Research Associate- Histology and Molecular Biology

Responsibilities:
The candidate will be responsible to perform all aspects of processing and analyzing cells and tissues for regenerative medicine programs. The laboratory work requires an understanding of mammalian pathology and molecular biology techniques, attention to detail, and quality focused mindset.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in histology and molecular biology. The Scientist will have full responsibility to ensure that analyses are established and followed for all histology processes- ensuring the highest standards in laboratory methods to provide quality results.
You will be a team member as part of a fast-paced, collaborative science team, with the expectation to maintain close communication with other scientists.
Essential Duties and Job Functions:
The candidate must think critically and creatively and work independently. We highly value candidates with a collaborative and collegial work ethic, with the ability to deliver results in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment. The candidate should exhibit excellent organizational skills and be proficient in both data management and the preparation of summary reports. The candidate should be able to present clear and concise data summaries in group and team meetings. The candidate should be willing to work weekends in rotation with other colleagues.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
MS or equivalent experience in Histology and Molecular Biology or related science
A minimum of 3 years of histology experience, preferably human and mammalian tissue processing.
Expertise in paraffin and frozen sections of mammalian tissues
Experience in various molecular biology methods, including: PCR, qPCR, Southern, Western, Northern, IHC, ICC, FISH, DNA cloning
Experience with various microscopy techniques
Willingness to work with lentiviral vector and human biological samples
Demonstrated ability to create written experimental plans
Ability to keep current with relevant scientific literature
Attention to detail and strong laboratory record keeping is required
Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills
Knowledge of automated laboratory systems is a plus
Excellent problem-solving skills
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Must be able to communicate effectively in oral and written formats
Be known by their fellow colleagues as friendly and reliable
